FOLLOWING Shipping Line’s awareness-raising items concerning repaying the pounds 9m EU grant to free the city from being stopped from basing turnaround cruises at the Pier Head’s Cruise Terminal, should Peel Mersey Ports be unwilling to help, perhaps we could ask Anne Robinson if she has enough spare change to cover the cost? Obviously, the terminal must be renamed after her, but it would also give the landing stage a new slogan for passengers about to sail: “You are the strongest linkspan. Goodbye!” . NEXT onto the Cruise Terminal stage will be five star liner Crystal Symphony, on Saturday, docking at 06.15 and sailing at 18.00.
The 51,000 gross ton deluxe liner was twice runner-up for Conde Nast’s best mid-sized cruise ship award and she will berth near to her owner NYK’s office at the Port of Liverpool Building.
. THERE are still tickets for the Friends of Mersey Ferries’ annual river and dock five hour cruise next Saturday. It sails up to Eastham, then into Liverpool docks to Seaforth and possibly out to Crosby channel
